Behavior-Based Safety for the Covid-19 containment
How to adopt preventive behaviors to reduce the contagion
Behavior-Based Safety (B-BS) is an evidence based scientific protocol that is able to reduce the number of occupational injuries and infections in the medical field, through the increase of workers motivation to adopt safe and hygiene behaviors. Based on the principles from which the protocol has been developed (parametric measurement, functional analysis and definition of appropriate consequences), currently, it is the only one recognized by the international community of behavior analysts able to ensure the effective containment of Cov-Sars-2 infection. Although the vaccination campaign have begun, until we do not achieve the herd immunity and new variants of the virus continue to emerge, our hygiene and prevention behaviors are the only available weapon we have in order to contain the spread of infection. In Italy, the B-BS process for the Covid-19 containment is currently being adopted by a number of companies, both in large and medium-sized ones, that have modified the protocol based on the needs that have been dictated by the current pandemic.
